Portfolios

Many people want a portfolio of photographs taken for a variety of reasons- for work purposes, to give to a loved one on a special occassion such as a marriage, or purely for fun.

Whatever the reasons, we are able to shoot for high quality portfolios.

We can supply prints, images on disk for web portfolios or printed books.

If you are serious about modeling, we will give you guidance with this, and try and help you avoid some of the pitfalls along the way.

If you want to work as a model, you will need a portfolio of images to show the range of styles and poses you can achieve. It would need to have several different changes of clothes in it, consist of full length shots, half length shots, headshots and sometimes even body parts (hands, feet etc). It should be constantly changing because as you gain more experience, your images will improve and you will want to swap them over.

You don't have to join a modeling agency. However, if you decide you want to, then finding a reputable agency can be difficult, so you need to be aware of what to look for and what to avoid.

Proper agencies don't expect new models to have fantastic portfolios- you're just starting out, so your modeling CV will be very short. Most will be happy to accept family snapshots to initially assess your suitability, but if you are taken on, you will need to get a portfolio together to show potential clients. Avoid model competitions that have an entrance fee- genuine agencies do not recruit new models in this way. Ask yourself, why do you have to pay to be auditioned?

Research, research, research- the internet can be misleading, but can also be a great source of information. If you Google the name of an agency, you may find great things, you may find bad things, or you may find nothing at all, which in itself can be worrying.

We do not act as an agency- we can't get models work, although we do sometimes hire models for commercial work.
